Role Mandate:
This role is responsible for leading, coaching and mentoring the Editorial teams (translation, copywriting, proofreading) to ensure quality, accuracy and timely delivery, strategy and execution of brand voice on packaging design.

Accountabilities:
Brand and Communication Leadership & Process Development:
Responsible for the complete voice and copy representation of the brand on pack and ensuring the delivery of consistency across product families.
To advise, facilitate and ideate on opportunities, updates, and changes to Brand guidelines.
Create and ideate copy (layout, typographic composition, sizing, feedback, capture, wording relationships) and all other activities within prescribed timelines to drive speed to market.
Empower and embrace the knowledge of how to balance the creative (what we want to do) with the guidelines (what we have to do)
Accountable to deliver and manage the creative review process in partnership with the design, production, and product teams.
Own, manage, and communicate the product story voice through communication of selling features and language for all projects by working in collaboration with the studio and project teams.

People Leadership, Coaching and Development:
Drive the team towards performance targets/KPIs as defined by leadership.
Manage, coach and lead the Editorial team using IDP and performance objectives process.
Provide ongoing creative mentorship and leadership to Editorial team leaders to ensure quality, accuracy and timeliness for all projects as required leading into creative review process.
Be a process, change, and culture champion.

Internal and External Partner Management and Development:
Ownership of any and all third-party relationships as it relates to Editorial functions in the studio. Primary decision maker to ensure that any third party understands process, delivers on time and is leveraged for the right reasons to partner together in the right way.
Accountable for the accuracy, delivery and creation of all portions of studio briefs and kickoff content as required.
Voice of the Editorial team to drive collaboration with the product teams to deliver the requirements for each creative brief.
Attend meetings and collaborate with cross functional teams to deliver on business requirements (could include attendance at meetings, townhalls, etc).
Primary point of contact for all Leadership projects as required for Editorial team input and execution.
Partner in project health and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, accurate, and on brand to the on-shelf date.

Role Requirements:
5 – 7 years of related work experience.
College diploma or higher in related field.
Communications certificate an asset. Bilingual is an asset.
1 – 3 years of experience managing, coaching and mentoring a multi-leveled team is required.
Previous experience leading an Editorial team in a studio environment is required, can be oversight over one function.
Experience understanding the problems that translators, proofreaders, and copywriters face on a regular basis.
Extension experience making decisions and problem solve is essential.
Being a people first, customer centric thinker is important.
Work in partnership with the Creative Director to outline new opportunities for process ongoing, execute the and feedback process and policy.
Responsible for the LBL Control brands voice communication and on what decision making on what faces our customers in market on our packaging.
Responsible for ensuring the Editorial team meets timeliness of project completion, workflow and resourcing accuracy, budget forecast accuracy and customer perception on packaging.
