SECTION 1: PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION

The Harvey’s Manager will supervise, motivate and participate in the operations of the Harvey’s franchise brand operated within the food court. They will assist in preparing and servicing orders for customers, with a specific emphasis on providing leadership, consistency and guidance to the food operations team while supporting the brand promises of each franchise. The Harvey’s Manager will ensure that the food court space is operationally ready for all daily business, in clean and good repair, equipment is maintained and that quality staff are trained and supported to deliver an exceptional student experience. Building strong working relationships with all employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious work environment, build staff morale and productivity is a key goal in this position.

Responsibility 1: Harvey’s

  • Act as the onsite Harvey’s expert, ensuring the standards of the franchise are met.
  • Ensure staff are informed, trained, coached and supported with all franchise promotions and procedures, monitor training completion on Cara U.
  • Lead by example to build a strong sense of teamwork, ownership and accountability amongst team members.
  • Assist with training employees on proper procedures, safe food handling and food preparation.
  • Create weekly work schedules for the units; monitor and adjust labour levels as needed.
  • Motivate staff and provide functional direction related to the quality and quantity of work to be performed.
  • Ordering and receiving inventory and supplies for the unit and ensure efficient use of product.
  • Ensure correct product and stock levels for the outlet and that relevant work stations are stocked and prepped with all relevant products for daily operation.
  • Troubleshoot and assist staff on shift with challenges that arise.
  • Operate and understand POS systems for the outlet, authorize voids and discounts as required.
  • Prioritize and focus on customer service, providing full staff briefings on current promotions and activities, key lines for sales and events taking place thus meeting the goals of the division.
  • Attend annual general meetings for the franchise and complete additional training as required.
  • Communicate compliance audit results with the team in order to coach and correct areas of improvement.

Responsibility 2: Managerial

  • Lead by example to build a strong sense of teamwork, ownership and accountability amongst team members.
  • Build strong working relationships with all employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious work environment, build staff morale and productivity.
  • Hold regular staff meetings; provide guidance and leadership by example.
  • Evaluate staff based on performance, work to keep staff motivated, coach and develop the team.
  • Regular communication with the Director of Business Operations to include: sales, product offerings, services, operational review, human resource issues, problem areas.
  • Assist in interviewing, hiring and training of all front line Harvey’s staff.
  • Set and maintain service standards and workplace culture in line with the BUSU mission statement and code of conduct.
  • Represent BUSU in a professional manner, while ensuring a smooth and efficient operation at all times by maintaining the highest standard of quality and service.

Responsibility 3: Health and Safety

  • Ensure all staff delivers excellent standards of cleanliness both front and back of house, high quality product and service provision, high standards of health and safety, well maintained equipment, regular cleaning, etc.
  • Review and improve health and safety procedures in the franchise and food court areas ensuring strong procedures and systems are in place and understood/implemented by all staff.
  • Review and monitor the franchise operations and present improvements and developments to the Director of Business Operations for consideration.

SECTION 2: POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have experience as a Harvey’s Supervisor, Key Holder or Manager and have attended official franchise training.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Well-developed leadership skills.
  • Computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet).
  • Excellent planning, organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to resolve conflict in an effective and diplomatic manner.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $42,000.00 to $45,000.00 /year
