2. Open to the general public
Under the direction of the Coordinator of Multidisciplinary Services - Adult sites (DMS) and in close collaboration with the assistants, technical coordinators, clinical department managers and medical directors, the incumbent ensures the planning, development, coordination, service offer and control of activities relating to the respiratory therapy, anesthesia and pulmonary function services of the Lachine hospital in addition to the management of the national home ventilator assistance program (PNAVD).
The incumbent ensures effective and efficient management of the human, financial, material and information resources of his services. He contributes to the development of an innovative organizational model based on a vision of a world center of excellence and he also participates in the implementation of an optimal organizational and functional structure. He ensures the integration of the activities of these services as well as the harmonization of practices according to the MUHC model.
The incumbent promotes a professional practice in respiratory care and services aligned with the highest quality standards. He is responsible for setting up a system that is able to assess, guarantee and improve the quality of services offered to patients. The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Coordinates activities for respiratory therapy, Anesthesia, and the Respiratory Physiology Laboratory on the Lachine site as well as for the PNAVD, in accordance with the establishment’s mission, objectives and priorities. Ensures efficient coordination of human, financial, material and information resources of the services under his responsibility.
- In accordance with the MUHC’s vision and in collaboration with the other stakeholders, participates in the strategic, professional and technological development of the services under his responsibility, as well as the optimal integration of their activities.
- Manages activities related to teaching and research and participates in promoting the
judicious use of resources.
- Oversees the development and promotion of professional expertise, ensures and coordinates the representation of services both inside and outside the MUHC.
- Assumes other responsibilities as requested by the director.

Education / Experience
- Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in respiratory therapy,
- Undergraduate university degree in administration or equivalent,
- A master’s degree is an asset,
- A minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience including three (3) years of experience in a management / supervisory position for a diagnostic or therapeutic service in respiratory therapy in a hospital environment,
- Member in good standing of the professional Order of Respiratory Therapists of Quebec.
- Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken,
- Proactive, dynamic, autonomous and innovative, he is recognized for his mobilizing leadership and good knowledge of diagnostic and therapeutic care and services in respiratory therapy,
- Excellent communicator, demonstrates an ability to establish bonds of trust and collaboration between the various stakeholders in the field and to foster enthusiasm and commitment,
- Demonstrates strong skills working in a decentralized management environment. He effectively manages change as well as organizational, operational and human resources issues. Action oriented and able to work on complex and varied issues showing initiative and creativity,
