The Inventory S&OP Manager serves as the subject matter expert for demand planning, network optimization, and capacity planning whom is responsible for leading the business unit's demand management, master scheduling processes and the company S&OP process. A focus on continuous improvement to drive ongoing better results in customer service levels (Fill Rate), working capital (Inventory Turns) and providing our customers with the best product at the lowest cost. Success in this role is defined by driving significant steps in Master Planning, S&OP management and Fill Rates.
1. Oversee master production scheduling by:
Managing Master Schedulers and the Supply Planner.
Reviewing manufacturing capacity planning with the Supply Planner to define line utilization.
Analyzing data from the sales forecast and ensuring master schedulers follow a clear and robust process to develop ongoing production plans with the highest service at the lowest cost.
Overseeing the budget process for lbs produced with the Supply Planner.
Supervising the efforts of the planners and reviewing shortage reports to assist in the determination of scheduling priorities, providing guidance and facilitating approvals when special measures are required to expedite production, purchasing and/or transportation plans.
Ensuring a timely and actionable materials plan (MRP) is delivered to the buying team.
Liaising with purchasing to resolve gaps between supply and operational demand.
2. Lead a reliable demand planning/forecasting process by:
Leading business unit's demand planning processes and ensuring delivery of cross-functional consensus forecasts to support production scheduling plans and the achievement of customer service, inventory and operational KPIs.
Providing information to upper level management so they will be aware of present and potential resourcing challenges (capacity and materials) along with recommendations resolving potential issues.
Working with Product Management to understand New Production Introduction (NPI) and End of Sale product transitions to seamlessly phase-in or phase-out within operations with minimal risk (e.g., resource, inventory, and capacity). Mitigating exposure to raw material and finished goods obsolescence costs.
3. Oversee and lead the S&OP process by:
Leading the Pre-SOP and SOP monthly meetings that encompass Supply and Demand.
Holding respectful parties accountable for their actions to ensure the process yields the desirable results.
Raising potential gaps in the process where Sales and Operations need to be involved to ensure success.
Creating targets around OTIF, Clearance, donations, etc.
Understanding how we use the S&OP process to dive accurate production planning.
Leading cross functional team meetings to ensure the decisions being made by the group considers the feedback from the other departments.
Working with the Supply Planner on populating the IFS demand planning module to create the annual demand plan for organization allowing other key stakeholders to build their budgeting plans.

Demand planning experience OR equivalent education and professional work experience.
Related production experience.
2 - 3 years:
ERP/MRP experience with Tier One product:
SAP, Oracle or JDEdwards.
Lean and Pull environment background, preferably in Demand Flow principles and practices.
Demonstrated ability to influence management, teams and individuals.
Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
Experience with Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) best practices.
Demonstrated experience working with a high demand retail/distributor preferred.
Results oriented with ability to react to situations with a sense of urgency.
