Reporting to the Recreation Programmer/Recreation Coordinator this position develops a high quality camp and special events program that is stimulating and enjoyable for all participants and staff. Provide supervision, guidance and coaching to staff and volunteers. Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of registered participants at all times. Provides Direction to Camp Leaders, Camp Specialists.
Recruit, supervise, coach and evaluate staff
Assist with promotion of camps
Develop, deliver, evaluate and document staff training and meetings
Assist Camp Specialists in the continuing development of their skills and act as a resource
Plan and organize high quality safe and stimulating camps for all levels of participants
Facilitate daily attendance reporting including follow up telephone calls in the event of absent camper
Complete administrative duties in a timely manner (i.e. staff and camp schedules, reports and incident/accident reports)
Keep current with industry trends and new class formats
Administer medications according to policy
Handle program feedback in a professional manner by providing exceptional customer service
Report all concerns, accidents and incidents to immediate supervisor for follow up and take appropriate action
Maintain complete vigilance while on duty and be ready to respond to any emergency situation
Maintain an understanding of department programs and services
Travel between work sites during shift
Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staff
Attend meetings/training as required
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum 18 years of age
Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience
Valid Ontario driver’s licence and full time use of a vehicle, considered an asset
Current Standard First Aid / CPR C from an accredited organization, or ability to obtain within 1 month of date of hire
High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development or Sport Certification and QUEST 2 Certification, considered an asset
Exceptional customer service and communication skills

Hourly rate: $19.00
