The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Director, Intermediary Strategic Relationships to join our Asset Management team.

Reporting to the VP, National Institutional & Strategic Relationships the Director, Intermediary Strategic Relationships will focus on growing NEI’s presence with National Head Office relationships with a view to getting on more platforms and building NEI’s leadership position in Responsible Investing; Develop an on-going and systematized client servicing approach to these relationships; Develop opportunities to introduce NEI solutions to key National Intermediary Dealer Relationships.

What your day looks like:
Grow NEI’s Assets under Management with targeted Intermediary Dealers through building upon NEI’s leadership position in Responsible Investing
Ongoing Service of Key National & Regional Intermediary relationships
Ability to interact effectively with both the external customer and the internal organization
Maintain relationships with the head offices of key distribution channels, selected third party relationships
Actively discover, review and manage the needs of the head offices in order to contribute NEI solutions to their success on an ongoing basis
Maintain a high level of investment market awareness
Participate in industry and dealer forums and conferences to keep apprised of all industry trends, competitive insights, products and services
Partner with sales leadership to assist in focused Intermediary National strategy
Partner with sales team to assist in field support
Promotion of NEI Solutions at distribution partner events.
Understanding of Responsible Investment foundations and ESG considerations linked to asset management solutions
Work to have NEI Solutions added to Dealer recommended lists, platforms & solutions
Help develop and coordinate the implementation of NEI Investments sales plans in the National Accounts channel
Ensures a thorough understanding of activities of competitors to identify threats and opportunities
Training & education directed to advisor practice management in support of Dealer initiatives


Your experience and skills:
In-depth knowledge of investment products and knowledge of personal financial management, asset management and portfolio management
Developed planning skills sufficient to help develop sales plans for the assigned market/channels
Influencing and negotiating techniques and the ability to gain commitment and support for desired objectives
Strong networking skills
Strong leadership skills, self-starter
Strong Knowledge of Responsible Investment & ESG landscape
Effective time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Able to incorporate sales strategies and a proven track record of executing strategies to grow market share
Knowledge of the principles and processes of selling, track record of closing sales and consistently strong sales results
5-10 years of experience in wealth and/or asset management industry
Bachelor’s in Business or Commerce and/or CFA MBA as additional qualifications
