The Personal Insurance Executive acts as an intermediary between clients and insurance companies. The Personal Lines sales rep will also provide service beyond expectation according to Verge Group procedures and standards. The foundation to be used in all situations will be to apply our Verge Group Core Values of “Integrity, Competency and Empathy” in all of your dealings with prospects, clients, companies and fellow co-workers.
Primary function is use your in-depth knowledge of risks and the insurance market to arrange legally binding insurance contracts to meet clients’ needs while acting in accordance with brokerage and insurer procedures and guidelines while achieving annual new business sales targets.
Qualify Prospects to assess fit to Brokerage and Insurer target markets, with long term retention of client as ultimate objective.
Assess prospect/client’s needs and provide accurate insurance advice to cover their
exposures and meet their needs to their satisfaction.
Provide an ACCURATE quote to prospect based on information provided.
Sell VALUE of dealing with self and brokerage.
Communication of features and benefits of each available option with recommendations of insurer and coverage.
Adhere to Verge Group new business guidelines and protocols with appropriate selection of business and documentation both to the client and on WINTAM.
Place new clients with insurers in accordance with their binding authorities and underwriting guidelines, obtaining authorizations directly from insurer where required.
Clearly advise clients of lack of or limitations of coverage with concise documentation.
Request and interpret underwriting reports after binding decision and communicating the impact of discrepancies on premium to the prospect.
Stay current on insurer product and underwriting guidelines.
Respond to client and insurer inquiries in a timely manner with the goal of exceeding their expectations.
Update client information on system as necessary.
Participate in training and seminar courses and implement learning into the practical work environment.
Obtain a minimum of 8 continuing RIBO education hours annually.
Remain open to learn and share knowledge and skills with others.
