Within Insurance/Affinity Markets we are seeking highly motivated Senior Product Owners with diverse backgrounds, who will work closely with business and delivery teams, to deliver on our many key strategic priorities as well as other Business digital and product capabilities.

You will be partnering closely with the Value Stream Product Owner, key business stakeholders, and delivery teams to evolve our Retail and Affinity experience. As the Product Owner, you have in depth knowledge of our Insurance, Health /Dental and Travel products along with a view of the desired Customer experiences which would simplify Customer-Manulife interactions. You will be a bridge between business and technology.

Overall the Product Owner balances the customer need and business requirements, while monitoring market trends and keeping a pulse on the competitive landscape and helping drive customer capabilities. In your quest to deliver simple and engaging customer experience, your collaborative nature will bring together internal players from the Direct and Sponsor business, Product, Technology, Operations, and Risk and Compliance (to name a few). You possess an excellent balance of analytical, communication, and leadership skills and are comfortable challenging others to continually improve our capabilities and solutions.
As a Product Owner, you will focus on the following:
Own the product backlog and feature prioritization
Provide clarity on the what and why of customer / business needs to the delivery squad
Drive the product and digital strategy, planning, and delivery of key capabilities/features
Ensure progress against important milestones for P2G, and key strategic priorities
Work in collaboration with all stakeholders (Business Leads Product, Technology, Operations, and Risk and Compliance) to ensure successful development, and implementation of features
Launch new Retail or Affinity digital platform features
Stay abreast of industry changes and advise leadership on impacts to our business
Change champion for adoption of best practices for insurance digital transformation, online transactions, self-serve, etc.
Act as the voice of the customer in the definition of product; incorporate feedback from customer insights and research
Monitor the outcomes and experience of launched features and iterate where required
Your background includes:
5-7 years of relevant work experience
Prior track record of delivering digital projects, working within innovative environments and leading execution across functional teams and business units
Highly effective communicator who can clearly articulate business needs between technical and non-technical resources as well as present strategy and vision to all participants
Strong relationship development and management skills
Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment
Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Product management or design experience with a focus on Digital
Agile delivery experience including: use of tools such as JIRA, Scrum/Kanban delivery frameworks, Release planning and User Story writing skills
Knowledge of Insurance platforms
Experience in Retail and/or Affinity lines of business
Nice to have:
UX/UI experience, user centered design, and journey mapping skills
Post-Secondary Education in a related discipline
