Under the direction of the Manager of Nursing Practice and Education, the Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for ensuring all work is in alignment with the organization's missions, goals, values, and strategic plans to promote high quality, safe client care. This is accomplished by assisting in establishing and maintaining best practice; assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating unit orientation, in-servicing and other educational programming; assessing learning needs; acting as a clinical resource; promoting client and family centered care, participating in committee work as assigned, participating in continuous improvement activities; developing and maintaining client and staff resources. The CNE will function as a member of the interprofessional clinical team to promote effective delivery of client care in the SHR, including regular direct communication and input from the unit Manager(s) of Nursing
Bachelor Degree in Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor Certificate
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Current CPR Certification
3 years recent full-time equivalent experience in medical unit nursing. Clinical leadership role (charge nurse, clinical coordinator or equivalent) experience preferred. Previous experience in formal clinical practice related teaching and mentoring preferred. An understanding of models of nursing care is an asset. Experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation; application of adult learning principles; and evidence of clinical leadership ability is an asset.

Experience with respiratory nursing including stable mechanically ventillated patients preferred. Previous experience in formal clinical practice-related teaching and mentoring preferred.
