The Containerboard Packaging Group, a division of Cascades, is the largest containerboard producer in Canada, and is also a top converter of corrugated products in the country. The Group manufactures a wide range of products made from recycled fibres for its North American customers in the food, beverage and consumer products sectors, among many others. The Division, which employs close to 3,400 people, owns six containerboard mills and nineteen corrugated products plants in Canada and the United States.

Your challenge!

Our mill in Trenton, Ontario, located on the Trent River, boasts a 90 year history. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Planner will provide technical planning and scheduling assistance to the maintenance team and facilitate continuous improvement in our processes.

Job Responsibilities

Coordinates weekly and shutdown maintenance planning and scheduling of reactive and preventive work
In collaboration with end users, ensures availability of equipment and facilities for the execution of reactive and preventive maintenance work
Leads the work order process from initiation to close
Prepares parts lists, SOP's and work order kits for planned jobs

Ensure the availability and performance of equipment by dealing with maintenance operations in priority order

Ensure the scheduling of work orders by planning, optimizing and evaluating the necessary resources

Follow work order management processes

Work with other sectors to coordinate and prioritize activities

Support the supervisor in work organization

Take the initiative to develop his or her skills

Health & Safety

Comply with safe work standards in effect

Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment for all staff in his units

Planning and organizing



Desired experience

Post-secondary education in the mechanical or electrical field with trade certificate preferred
3-5 years of maintenance work experience, preferably as a maintenance planner and in the pulp and paper industry

Technical competencies

Solid understanding of maintenance and reliability processes and tools
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Available to work overtime as required
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, SAP and CMMS
