As a SaaS company, Sofdesk’s IT requirements are always two-fold; The public facing SaaS infrastructure, run by our Dev team and the internal company infrastructure. The network and Systems admin primary focus will be the support and managing of internal company infrastructure. This includes the LAN backbone, windows, Mac and Linux workstations, other windows based internal servers, laptops and VPN connections. Secondary focus will deal with client facing tasks such as emergency support of application servers as well as suitability tests for hardware and OS image creation to facilitate scaling up of the internal network quickly and efficiently. This is a full time job, 40h/week.
What you'll be doing as a Networks and Systems Administrator
Maintaining internal and external networks
Architect expansion of the internal network to support company growth
Build new workstations
Maintain windows, Mac and Linux based workstations
Maintaining servers both hardware and VMware based
Remote management of network assets
Trouble shooting local and remote network and workstation/laptop issues
Set up a process for setting up workstations
Create new employee accounts
Deployment of client workstations on local corporate LAN
Helpdesk for internal and external clients
Provide basic and advanced technical support to all employees
Maintaining and creating procedural manuals
Establish and implement new security policies
Purchase IT equipment
Systems administrators will be required to create operational manuals for their departmental activities
Organize the new and existing workstation areas to accommodate company growth
DEC in a job-related field, or equivalent
5 years of IT experience as a network administrator
Fluency in English both oral and written
Experience configuring, deploying and troubleshooting solutions such as Active Directory, LAN/WAN networking, firewalls, switches, WIFI technology, Office 365, and cloud solutions.
IT problem solving skills (hardware, software, and cloud)
Basic scripting skills
Fundamental understanding of TCP/IP and network topography
Fundamental understanding of operating systems including Linux and Microsoft Windows and Mac OS
Windows and linux scripting skills
Familiarity with the use of a ticket based work tracking system
Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical clients
Self directed and ability to self prioritize
Understanding the importance of documenting procedures
Strong work ethic
Ideal Candidate also possesses:
Knowledge of ITIL or similar standards
