Welcome Home Residence Inc., is a family owned and operated residential home for adults with developmental and physical disabilities. Welcome Home has one residential program in Cumberland, Ontario and is currently looking to take on new staff members.

Job Description

Our team is currently looking for Full Time, Part Time, Casual male worker, who are comfortable working days, evenings and weekends. This position is a 2:1 support position who supports an individual with Autism, and High Levels of Self Injurious Behaviours.

Education Required:

Police Foundations

Bachelor of Early Learning and Community Development

Child and Youth Care

Addictions Counseling

Developmental Service Worker

Early Childhood Education

Community and Addiction Service Worker

Community and Justice Services

Autism Intervention Program (ABA)

BA in psychology

***Please note, a high school diploma combined with a minimum of 5 years experience in the field may be considered.

Daily requirements of the job may include:

Going out into the community

Assisting with daily living routines

Supporting residents in matters of personal hygiene and self-care

Writing detailed reports for case management

Communicating with health care providers and social workers

Maintaining a working relationship with schools and day programs

Maintaining cleanness of the home

Providing balanced and nutritional meals

Implementing Behavior Support Programs

De-escalating crisis situations

Undertaking administrative tasks and maintaining proper data collection

Mentoring, coaching, and supporting individuals

Encouraging positive behavior

Taking into account the physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual needs of each individual

Teaching new behaviors and skills through the use of Applied Behavior Analysis techniques and positive behavior supports

Providing a safe and flourishing household which will protect ones cultural identity, sexuality, beliefs and values while uplifting their self-esteem

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Salary: $19.00 to $23.00 /hour


  • Assisting clients with personal hygiene and getting dressed
  • Assisting clients with housekeeping or other daily errands
  • Providing companionship and emotional support
  • Observing and reporting on changes in the health or status of the client
  • Preparing food and feeding clients
  • Taking vitals, height, and weight
  • Maintaining clients' health equipment
  • Administering medication
  • Transporting client to appointments
  • Assisting clients with rehabilitative exercises
  • Providing support with academic, social or recreational activities
