We are looking for a Purchasing Clerk with previous experience and/or knowledge in the grain industry - Primarily in Soybeans and Rye Grain.

Job Description:

  • Review requisition orders for accuracy and verify that materials, equipment and stock are not available from current inventories
  • Source and obtain price quotations from catalogues and suppliers and prepare purchase orders
  • Contact suppliers to schedule deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed deliveries and other problems
  • Prepare and maintain purchasing files, reports and price lists.
  • Monitor inventory levels as materials, equipment and stock are issued, or sold using manual or computerised inventory systems
  • Compile inventory reports, recording the quantity, type and value of materials, equipment and stock on hand, using manual or computerised inventory systems
  • Prepare requisition orders to replenish materials, equipment and stock
  • Maintain stock rotation and dispose of and account for outdated stock
  • Enter data for production scheduling, stock replenishment/relocation and inventory adjustments
  • Reconcile physical inventories with computer counts.
  • Calculate costs of orders
  • Complete and process international purchase orders
  • Obtain price quotations from suppliers
  • Prepare and maintain purchasing files, reports and record

Job Requirements/Skills

  • Must have reliable transportation (Own Vehicle)
  • Must have Valid Driver's Licence

*A requirement of this position is that the Purchasing Clerk may need to travel (locally) with his/her own vehicle to pick-up samples

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $15.00 to $18.00 /hour
