developing close and long term relationships with your clients? Our Brentwood House and Sluggett

House are state-of-the-art residential dementia care settings located in Brentwood Bay that

provide a wonderful home environment for seniors in need of specialized dementia care twenty-

four hours a day.

the outer Gulf Islands. Our Licensed Practical Nurses at these locations utilize a high level of critical

thinking and nursing experience to support the delivery of compassionate, efficient, and quality

care in a multidisciplinary team committed to supporting residents to maintain the highest quality

of life possible. The LPN performs all duties within full scope of practice related to resident care

and directly supervises RCAs/HCAs, assisting with their training, evaluation and performance

management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(Duties and responsibilities may vary depending on shift rotation)

Complete paperwork related to Resident Care Conferences

Facilitate admission process

Complete work concerning resident vitals

Delegate tasks on a daily basis

Collaborate with internal housing team to develop, implement and update individual care
plans in alignment with physician orders and Acute Care

Communicate with families to coordinate supplies and resident needs

Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living

Oversee orientation and training of new employees and practicum students

Provide supervision and support to RCAs/HCAs by providing information on client care plans
and guidance on addressing concerns

Respond to client, family, or RCA/HCA feedback making appropriate recommendations or
taking action if necessary

Maintain pertinent documentation, including computer records

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant policies and procedures with an emphasis on
safety

Support our safety culture by investigating, recording and reporting incidents, accidents and
near misses, and implementing corrective actions as appropriate

Housekeeping tasks as required

Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
Full scope LPN Diploma

CLPNBC Registration

First Aid with CPR Certificate

FOODSAFE Certificate

WHMIS Certificate

Supervisory and Dementia Care experience preferred

Able to effectively use a computer and electronic devises

Access to a computer and access to the internet

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

Ability to multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced environment

Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships and participate effectively as
a team member

Ability to guide and mentor RCA/HCAs in the delivery of quality care

Experience working in a residential care setting
