Pathology and Laboratory Medicine- Specimen Receiving
Applications are invited for the position of Laboratory Assistant III in the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine –Specimen Receiving Staffing Area. Duties include, but are not limited to specimen processing, packaging of specimens for transport, and data entry.
Rate of Pay:
$26.37 per hour - $30.40 per hour

Certification as a Laboratory Assistant by OSMT or CSMLS
Minimum of one (1) year recent applicable laboratory experience
Knowledge of Transportation of Dangerous Goods – Certification Preferred
Excellent computer skills (Cerner preferred)
Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory protocols and terminology
Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
Demonstrated technical problem solving skills
Demonstrated effective organizational, multi-tasking and time management while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated strong conflict management skills
Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centred care
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step)
