Certified Electrical Engineering Technologist or Technician program (minimum three year program)
Refrigeration and Air conditioning systems Mechanic 313A
Building Automation Systems Certificate
CEM - Certified Energy Manager

The HVAC Technician role will almost exclusively focus on the 12 on-campus residence buildings, primarily focused on HVAC repair and maintenance and ensures the safe and efficient operation of the systems. This position reports to the Manager, Residence Maintenance and is part of an 8 person Residence Trades Team reporting jointly to Housing & Conference Services and Facility Services.
McMaster Housing & Conference Services department is seeking a driven and trustworthy HVAC Technician who is responsible for providing maintenance, modification and renovation for the University HVAC and building automation systems. The Job Duties:
Install, maintain and repair HVAC and building automation systems software and controls.
Perform general servicing and maintenance of HVAC equipment (filters, belts, cleaning, minor mechanical / electrical).
Monitor and schedule building automation systems, software and controls
Required to lift and carry equipment up to 50lbs
Provide input and recommendations on the design and overall construction, installation and maintenance of automation components
Update and maintain a variety of records and information.
Certified Electrical Engineering Technologist or Technician Program &/or Refrigeration and Air conditioning systems Mechanic 313A
Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to work independently, show initiative
Ability to work under pressure.
Must understand customer service and deliver on it
