Extreme Excavating Ltd has an immediate opening for a Receptionist / Bookkeeper clerk in our main office.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Office Manager, the receptionist / bookkeping clerk will be responsible for reception while performing a variety of tasks as required in accounts payable and receivable, payroll and other accounting tasks as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, and Ability

  • Answering the phone, greeting people, processing mail
  • Processing and data entry for accounts payable and receivable and general office duties
  • Reconciliation of accounts
  • Review timesheets
  • Payroll processing, including maintaining paystubs for employees
  • Preparing records of employment (ROE s), answering Service Canada payroll inquiries, associated with the ROE process
  • Review and process monthly employee expense reports
  • Act as a point of contact for requests for information relating to its payroll functions
  • All other related tasks, including updating of various files (insurance, HR, payroll)
  • Various other accounting related tasks that may be required in a changing environment

Requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • Two or more years of bookkeeping experience
  • A strong understanding of the accounting cycle
  • Strong organizational skills and the proven ability to multi‐ task in a dynamic environment
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision, as well as within a team
  • Meticulous attentiveness to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to deal with confidential information in a professional manner
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Experience using Sage 100 would be an asset

This position is 15 – 20 hours per week and may lead into more hours. Occasional full time holiday relief in various positions is required.
