Job Description

The position:

  • Answering phones
  • Responding to emails
  • Taking payment and issuing receipts
  • Photocopying and replenishing office paperwork
  • Greeting families for Arrangements
  • Making Coffee/Tea for families who are making Funeral Arrangements
  • General upkeep of front desk, lobby, washrooms and arrangement room areas
  • Preparing Registrations of death and producing death certificates
  • Submitting obituary notices, preparing proofs and corresponding with families
  • Assisting with other general office duties as required or assigned

An eligible candidate will:

  • Be at our front desk, the first initial contact for our families, guests, suppliers, etc
  • Be empathetic, organized and possess the ability to prioritize and manage time appropriately
  • Have a good demeanor and positive attitude
  • Be a multi functional individual who is service minded
  • Be an excellent communicator and team player
  • Hold themselves to a high standard of service, be polite and always professional
  • Be compassionate and someone who has a desire to help others
  • Have experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have exceptional attention to detail and accuracy skills
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Their own reliable transportation
  • Is able to work well in a team setting and alone

Job Type: Part-time/Casual

Typically around 20-40 hours per month

Suitable for someone not looking for full-time/part-time or scheduled hours

On an at-need basis/on call
