Oakridge Shared Services is looking for an Entry Level Accounts Payable Trade Specialist to join our team! We are proud to be a part of the Pattison Group of companies. The Jim Pattison Group is broadly based across the automotive, media, packaging, food sales and distribution, magazine distribution, entertainment, export and financial industries and is the second-largest private company in Canada.

About You:
The person we are looking for is results orientated with a positive attitude towards learning new skills. You possess strong analytical, critical thinking and research skills. And you're a team player who has a high degree of personal accountability. The ideal candidate would have:

Strong technical proficiency, Intermediate Excel skills
Experience doing account reconciliations and account discrepancy research
Preference will be given to a candidate with a diploma or degree in business / accounting

Position Overview:
At Oakridge Shared Services we operate in a dynamic Shared Services environment and our core business is to provide effective, timely and efficient accounting and back room services to organizations within the Jim Pattison Group as well as privately owned businesses.

Day in the Life

Reconcile vendor accounts (manual and electronic) in an efficient and error free manner according to best practices
Prepare adjustments for discrepancy payable within materiality thresholds and seek authorization according to approval matrix
Review accuracy and completeness of monthly reconciliations submitted for payment review
Support month end processes as required and according to best practices
Report and track any and all discrepancies as well as provide all back-up documentation to suppliers and internal stakeholders monthly
Identify and create efficiencies in the reconciliation and reporting process
Maintain positive internal and external relationships in delivering service at the highest quality as needed by the organization
