The Director of Sales, Retail (Canada) is responsible for directing the activities of the Canadian sales channel to achieve the efficient and profitable sale of Belkin International ( Belkin® , Linksys® , Wemo® , Phyn® ) products to targeted levels. Includes supervising, leading, and assisting sales personnel in selling the product line to targeted markets as well as establishing and executing required sales and product training programs. Assists sales personnel in formulating plans, goals, and objectives relating to target volume prospects and additional product penetration within existing accounts.
Manages a staff of National Account Managers, Business Development Managers and/or Representatives to achieve company goals and objectives.
Specific responsibilities include:
Responsible for annual channel budget.
Responsible and accountable for the continuous daily pursuit of major prospective customers as well as expand sales to existing accounts through new and exciting products and services.
Formulate sales plans for current and prospective accounts and monitor prospecting activities.
Provide assistance to sales personnel regarding quotes, returns, and other sales-related questions.
Participate in formulation of short term and long-range planning regarding market share and product mix. Recommend and monitor sales and profit plans, goals, and quotes.
Partner with Product Management Team to analyze Canada specific industry market trends, products, and pricing that may impact sales efforts.
Review major account activities with assigned Account Manager to increase/maintain maximum volume and product penetration.
Provide Purchasing Department with product usage forecasts/sales trends information.
Review customer returns.
Confer with Marketing Department in developing marketing plan.
Conduct sales and training meetings as required, coach sales department regarding salesmanship techniques and pricing.
Review and analyze daily sales statistics.
Build morale within the Sales Department.
Perform annual performance appraisal reviews.

Education and Experience Requirements:
BS/BA degree in Sales, Marketing, Business or related discipline.
Minimum 7-10 years of experience within Sales/Account Management
Progressive supervisory/managerial responsibilities.
Strong financial acumen w/P&L responsibilities
Ability to build executive relationships with major Canadian accounts.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Excellent oral and written presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to anticipate and effectively resolve business issues.
Domestic and International Travel required.
