The Lieutenant Governor is the personal representative in the province of the Queen of Canada. As such, the position is not only the Chief Executive Officer of the government but is also the embodiment of the Crown in British Columbia. The Office of Lieutenant Governor and Government House itself is multi-dimensional, supporting several distinct lines of business including constitutional and international protocol matters, ceremonial and hospitality events, and the management and maintenance of Government House as a National Historic Site. The Office of the Lieutenant Governor is managed and maintained by staff and others, who coordinate constitutional, ceremonial, protocol, diplomatic, administrative and operational activities at Government House and other locations.
The Operations Manager supports the development of the service plan, coordinates issues management, leads projects and manages Executive communications and finances. The Operations Manager reports to the Director of Operations and Deputy Private Secretary.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience and physical requirements as outlined below:
Completion of relevant post-secondary education (Business, Hospitality Management, Volunteer Coordination, Accounting etc). or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
At least 3 years’ experience in the supervision of operational staff including assignment of work, development and evaluation of performance plans and approval of leave.
Experience dealing with highly confidential and sensitive issues.
Experience managing diverse workloads effectively and independently.
Experience processing financial statements, including budget monitoring, accounts payable and receivable, and the ability to read, understand, and analyse financial statements.
2 years’ recent experience (within the last 4 years) using Sage Accounting software, building projects, balancing accounts
2 years’ experience with event planning and roll out
Experience managing volunteers
Inventory management experience
Valid Class 5 B.C. Drivers’ License
Continuous standing / walking on various surfaces including carpet, tile, grass, gravel.
Ability to crouch, kneel, and lift objects (up to 50lbs)
Ability to climb stairs, ladders or step ladders
Occasional pushing / pulling of carts and trolleys, tables, chairs or couches
Occasional lifting / carrying of tables and chairs (average weight range 25-50 lbs)
