Your Opportunity:
The Administrative Support V at the SSC office provides supervision for the daily operations of this staffing office by providing direction to the other staffing clerks, monitoring the workload, and determining clerk duties, in collaboration with the SSC Supervisor. He/she will provide scheduling support for Inpatient Unit managers, Unit Charge Nurses and Relief Team Managers with the use of the staff scheduling application, ESP (Environment For Scheduling Personnel). The successful applicant must work well within the SSC (Staff Service Centre) and be able to take general direction from the Staffing Office Supervisor/Manager. This position is accountable for the day to day administration and operation of pre-determined staff scheduling processes and long range planning for adequate staffing levels. He/she will be able to process payroll with timekeeping in ESP, able to analyze the e-people exception reports, investigate pay errors from a timekeeper perspective, and make the necessary corrections for accurate delivery of pay. The incumbent will liaise with the unit management teams, to ensure unit work plans and staff schedules/assignments are up to date and maintained. Key responsibilities are: Maintenance of unit work plans and staff assignments. Analyzing staffing levels and make changes as needed. Anticipating staffing needs and communicating to area managers about shifts that require further attention, assisting with office procedures that support the more complex scheduling, and timekeeping procedures. Following pre-booking guidelines, timekeeping, and data entry for payroll. Able to run reports as requested by managers to assist in their decision making about staff scheduling.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).

Additional Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma required. 1 - 3 years staff scheduling experience with proficient use of the ESP application required. A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential. Excellent verbal and written communication in the business context is necessary, including professional telephone edict. Ability to work independently with minimal direction and within the team is a requirement. Strong sense of customer service and attention to detail is essential. Proficient use of ESP is necessary. A working knowledge of the various applicable collective agreements and pay codes is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Post secondary education preferred with a diploma or certificate in business or health care. Timekeeping experience in ESP and e-people is preferred.
