Responsible for support in the Accounting department in terms of payroll preparation for hourly and salaried employees and for maintaining records of the organization’s financial transactions. This position does not offer remote work.

Preparation and balancing of bi-weekly payroll for all employees including deductions.
Adjusting irregularities in pay.
Responsible for distribution and/or direct deposit of payroll cheques.
Verify accuracy of all relevant documents.
Maintain computerized records and/or for providing data for input into general account system.
Provide support in the form of general office duties i.e. bank runs, receptionist coverage, etc.
Data entry of daily production cards
Process of new hires including obtaining letter of hire, and employee information package
Quality Bonus Program verification and maintenance.
Follows up with Supervisor, Human Resources and other departments necessary to clarify and or ensure employee payroll issues are communicated and responded to in a timely manner.
Maintain records of employee attendance, leave and overtime to calculate pay.
Maintain records of employee expense reports, PPE purchases, misc deductions.
Maintain attendance records in Emp Center swipe system.
File all payroll reports.
Maintain personnel files.
Prepare payroll related reconciliations and journal entries at month end.
High School Diploma or equivalent general education.
Minimum of five years hands-on experience in accounting field, specifically payroll administration.
Knowledge of ADP Payroll systems, ezLabour, Crystal Reports and Pay Specialist considered an asset.
Proficient in computer applications (Windows, Excel, Word, Access) considered an asset.
Enrollment of certification in Canadian Payroll Association Level 1, an asset
Familiarity working in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
Able to work overtime or under pressure to meet deadlines.
Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills to communicate with various personnel.
Able to maintain confidentiality of information received.
Well-organized with ability to work under minimal supervision.
Demonstrate multi-tasking skills.
