We are currently looking for a Casual Food Service Supervisor for Royal Jubilee & Victoria General Hospitals.
22.00/hr to 24.00/hr (based on experience)
7:00 am to 7:00:pm (shifts can vary between these hours - they are based on vacation coverage and operational support. Shifts can include some weekdays and weekends.)
Hours per week:
Casual employment but can expect minimum 22-40 hrs/week depending on vacations and operational needs. There are 6 Full-Time Supervisors that need vacation coverage plus there is opportunity to cross train as a diet tech/clerk and admin support for the right candidate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Company vehicle for deliveries will be provided.*
Assist the Shift Managers to supervise multiple food service units.
Supervise the production of menu items, ensure completion of cash readings, manage associates, schedule staff working hours, hire and train employees.
Learn from and assist the Shift Manager to resolve labour relation issues, track and produce reports on weekly inventories, sales revenue, labour and food cost.
Communicate positively and enthusiastically to the café patrons and address their issues promptly.
Ensure strict compliance with Compass’ Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Program, Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS regulations.

Minimum of two years related experience in a hospital and/or fast paced restaurant environment.
FoodSafe Level 1 Certification.
Experience dealing with labor relations issues in a unionized environment.
Strong supervisory, leadership and coaching skills.
Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
Excellent customer and client relationship skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft office is required.
**A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is a condition of employment. Proof of immunizations and Tuberculosis Screening Test results may be required. **
Food and Nutrition Management Diploma from an approved Community College and/or university degree in Food Service and Nutrition
Member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management or be eligible for membership.
Knowledge of CBord Food Service management system.
FoodSafe Level 2 Certification.
