The occupant of this post shall assist Blyth Academy Online in ensuring that teacher communication is timely and of the highest quality in terms of email responses and feedback given when grading student work. Teacher communication with students will be systematically analyzed to ensure that it is within the standard 24-hour response time for emails and 4-day turnaround for grading/feedback and that the content of these communications is up to Blyth Academy Online's communication standards. The occupant will provide coaching for teachers and make recommendations in order to improve communication patterns. Teacher communication issues will be logged and reported to Department Heads, the Vice Principal, and the Principal. The occupant will work in tandem with the Student Support and Resolutions Specialist to address complaints.

The occupant will also design and administer various professional development programs for teachers in the area of communication and also explore new tools to improve communication within the platform.

This position is based at the Blyth Academy Online offices in London, Ontario.

Duties and Responsibilities

Systematically review teacher response and grading turnaround times
Review quality of teacher responses/feedback (tone, length, accuracy, spelling/grammar, relevance, etc.)
Provide coaching for teachers that do not meet communication standards
Make recommendations and provide reports on teacher performance to Department Heads, the Vice Principal, and the Principal
Design and administer professional development for teachers in need
Explore and test new tools to improve communication
Provide guidance on writing constructive emails, feedback, and report card comments
Connect with students who are passive in regard to communicating with their teacher
Requirements

Valid teaching certificate (OCT preferred)
Experience coaching and/or leading teachers
Experience using Learning Management Systems
Experience with D2L is preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong time management skills
Ability to work within a team
Strong interpersonal skills
Highly organized
Passionate about education
