Reporting to the Manager Inside Sales Lending Specialists, the Inside Lending Specialist (ILS) is primarily responsible for handling existing client requests for increases on their mortgage and for finding opportunities for cross-selling our ancillary products, as well as requesting referrals for new business. They also have the ability to work with existing clients who are moving and need to re-apply for a mortgage with Manulife Bank for their new property. The ILS ensures business is submitted to the appropriate servicing unit within the Bank to ensure seamless delivery to the client.
Handle requests from existing clients who are looking for an increase in their existing mortgage. This includes taking an application from the client, explaining the process and setting expectations, requesting all required underwriting documents, inputting and submitting the application to lending and advising clients of decision.
Identify and position cross-sell opportunities with existing clients and request referrals from our existing clients.
The ILS will need to pre-qualify clients and identify the appropriate solution for client looking to port their existing Manulife Bank mortgage.
With dedication contact clients who have a mortgage with Manulife Bank in 2nd position to try and obtain the clients 1st position mortgage by selling them on the advantages of our solutions over the competition.
Ensure flow of business occurs seamlessly by coordinating field activities and directing business to the appropriate servicing unit of the Bank. Act as problem solvers to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness by highlighting opportunities for improvement in operational areas. Act as a conduit for feedback from the field by relaying ideas for improving existing products and services as well as new product opportunities.

Proven financial services and banking industry knowledge
2 or more years of financial services experience, preferably in sales or service capacity
Strong experience in the mortgage industry, particularly with underwriting, structuring and presenting residential mortgage deals.
Ability to effectively communicate with clients and sales staff.
Strong collaborative skill set to work with RLSs to build superior client experience along with excellent administrative and follow-up skills.
Driven, motivated self-starters ideal for this role
Comfortable with pay-for-performance compensation structure
Sales and customer service oriented
Experience on mortgage adjudication systems
