Logistics Planner - Meadowvale
As a member of Pork International Logistics team, the Logistics Planner is responsible for the timely, accurate execution of product movements from the point of supply to the delivery to the customer. This individual will interact with supply chain partners such as production, warehouse, customers, overseas offices, shipping lines, truckers, freight forwarders and other logistics partners servicing the International markets on a transactional basis to coordinate the movement of product as per the parameters defined in the contract of sale.
A snap shot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do:
Strategically plan and coordinate logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services
Coordinating Inbound / outbound inventory from plants to storage facilities. Maximizing the order fulfillment. Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets
Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle
Liaise with plant optimization, sales, transportation, warehouse and customers.
Keep track of quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
Responsible for maintaining, tracking and analyzing all outbound shipments, including working with carriers and the 3PL provider. Work closely with finance when required
Resolve any arising problems or complaints
Supervise, coach and train new workforce
Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvement
Regular correspondence with truckers, SS lines, plants, cold storages, foreign offices and customers.
Support Logistics Manager in smooth running of the department and provide back up
Use various sap, TM and external warehouses inventory systems to manage stock levels, delivery times and transport costs;
Issue loading instructions to the carrier(s) and supplier(s)
Prepares or compiles documentation required for the shipment and ownership transfer of product
Responsible for obtaining import permits / Letters of Credits required for specific
Record daily deliveries and shipments to verify inventory vs pending orders
Collaborate with warehouse and plant staff to ensure business goals are met
Report to sales and upper management on stock levels, issues etc.
Allocate work load to team members once orders set-up has been completed
Handle on hand shipments, returns, re-consignments, refusals, claims for lost or damaged shipments and create debit and credits notes
Assists with freight auditing and quotations as well as freight/financial reporting as needed
Run sap freight cost reports every day and at period end to make sure that all the cost for the specific period has been costed. Obtain proper approvals for accessorial charges and process freight bills
Other projects/tasks as assigned
Providing reports to management; inventory, distribution, freight.

What you will bring:
Post-secondary degree/diploma in international logistics or equivalent work experience required
4-5 years’ experience in logistics operations or related field required
Excellent computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and an aptitude to learn new software when required
Fluent in English
Bilingual is an asset such as Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese
Letters of Credit, applications, rules and practices
Outstanding ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and to work in an extremely fast- paced environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Listening, Written and Verbal)
Extremely well organized and detail-oriented
Ability to take initiative and independently prioritize own work
Strong problem-solving skills
