Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview
Working with the Medical Director(s), the incumbent is responsible for the successful delivery of services for the discipline. These responsibilities will be discharged within the policies of Shared Health Manitoba and the terms of all applicable collective agreements and contracts.

Experience
Minimum of 5 years technical laboratory experience in the designated discipline.
Minimum of five (5) years experience in a leadership role in the designated discipline.
Other suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Undergraduate science degree or Advanced RT certification in the appropriate discipline.
Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology with additional formal education in supervision/management preferred.
Completion of a recognized post secondary program in health care management is an asset.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
Registration as a Medical Laboratory Technologist is an asset.
Qualifications and Skills
Demonstrated ability in discipline-related test methodology, instrumentation, quality management, and accreditation process.
Working knowledge of lab information system applications is preferred
Possess a sound knowledge of the principles of management and leadership. Project Management is an asset. Knowledge of human resources management within a unionized environment.
Knowledge of financial management within a public sector organization an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office ™.
Advanced level of technical expertise in the discipline.
Ability to translate scientific technical knowledge and critical thinking to decision making and problem solving in the field.
Leadership abilities in a complex, rapidly changing environment.
Effective communication and change management skills.
Effective organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to promote teamwork, collaboration and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
