POSITION: Digital Marketing Specialist

REPORTS TO: Website & Digital Content Manager

The Retail Council of Canada is seeking a dynamic Digital Marketing Specialist to work out of our Toronto Head Office, reporting to the Website & Digital Content Manager.


Manage Digital Advertising Assets and Marketing tools

· Manage digital assets for paid advertising on website and digital communications. Ensure insertion orders are followed accurately and assets are correct sized

· Optimize CRM for lead generation and marketing automation

· Manage analytics and pull reports for paid advertisers

· Manage implementation of ‘Retail This Week’ eNewsletter on a weekly basis

· Work with marketing team to build and manage email templates as needed

Advertise Events, Membership, Benefit Programs

· Plan and execute digital advertising campaigns, including SEO/SEM, PPC, digital advertising campaigns (e.g. LinkedIn Ads, Google Adwords Ads) for events, member benefit programs and more

· Develop and execute marketing strategy for Retail Supplier Directory

· Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)

· Design, test and execute digital advertising campaigns with marketing automation tools, making data-driven decisions

· Create lead generation and customer conversion through paid LinkedIn and Google campaigns

· Plan, execute, and measure experiments and conversion tests

· Use CRM/Click Dimensions to facilitate lead generation and campaign automation

· Assist marketing team by scheduling social media posts as needed

Analytics Reporting

· Enable RCC staff to access current suite of analytics and marketing tools through dashboards, automated reporting

· Provide analytics to internal content stake holders. Analyze analytics and identify areas of for revenue and business improvement

· Providing bi-monthly analytic reports for RCC On-Air

· Provide daily or weekly reporting on marketing efforts

· Work with communications team to ensure Cision media coverage templates are optimized


· College or University level education in Web Development, Data Analytics or Marketing and Communications

· Self-motivated and able to independently develop solutions to open-ended problems

· Strong understanding of HTML and CSS

· Experience with WordPress content administration

· Knowledge of web analytics (e.g. Google Analytics)

· Some experience with Google and LinkedIn ads

· Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products

· Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks

Bonus Points if you have experience with:

· Click Dimensions or similar email marketing tools

· Microsoft Dynamics or similar CRM tools

· Drupal

· JavaScript

· Web development in general

· Writing or editing content

· Experience with PhotoShop, Illustrator or Adobe Suite

· Knowledge of SEO and/or Screaming Frog

· Cision or similar media monitoring tools
