Were currently seeking a motivated, intermediate-level human resources and payroll professional to join our team as our new HR / Payroll Manager.

About the Position:
As our new HR / Payroll Manager, your primary goal is to manage and administer all human resources and payroll operations for our company, for 120 employees spread across six locations.

Youll manage the administration of human resources policies, procedures, and programs, and will be responsible for functional areas including payroll, employee relations, recruitment, training and development, compensation, and organizational development.

Practically speaking, your role will involve:
Preparing and processing bi-weekly payroll for hourly, salary, and commission employees as well as administering company benefit plans
Leading company compliance with all government legislation related to labour, payroll, health and safety, AODA, etc., and maintaining all related employee and company records as required
Leading the recruiting and hiring process, and conducting new hire orientation and onboarding
Developing and leading employee recognition and employee social events
Leading competitive market research to establish pay practices, and maintain company wage and salary structure and pay policies
Conducting investigations related to employee complaints/concerns
Leading and administering a performance management program to support employee development
Assisting and coaching managers to effectively handle and resolve employee issues and manage change
This is a hands-on, tactical role in a fast-moving environment, where youll get to roll up your sleeves and work as a true generalist. In one moment, youll be managing an employee issue or coaching a manager, and in the next will be processing payroll. Youll enjoy the opportunity to wear many hats, and because you have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, youll thrive in the fluid nature of this role.

This is a full-time permanent position working 8:30 am 5 pm, Monday to Friday, in our St. Catharines head office. Occasionally, you may be required to travel to our various office locations in Southern Ontario. Qualifications
Experience as a human resources generalist and/or business partner (preferably between 5-10 years)
Hands-on experience processing payroll with excellent knowledge of legislative payroll requirements and payroll accounting
Experience providing counsel and advice to staff and management in key areas including: recruiting, performance management, staff and organizational, development, employee relations, compensation & benefits, and compliance
Experience administering employee benefit and compensation programs
Extensive knowledge of and experience applying Ontario employment standards/labour laws and legislation
Excellent computer skills
Knowledge of general accounting
Degree or diploma in human resources, business, industrial relations, or a related field
Professional human resources designation (CHRP, CHRL) is an asset
Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is an asset
Valid G drivers license and access to your own transportation
