About the Business Development Representative position:

The Business Development Representative (BDR) role lays the foundation for a successful transition into SaaS Sales, Client Suc.cess, Account Management, Technical Support, or Marketing positions.

BDRs are the face of Erply; you will interact with potential clients and existing customers to understand their problem and show them how Erply can provide the best solution. You’ll create and utilize educational materials to educate customers, solve basic issues, and qualify leads to be pushed through the sales pipeline.

You’ll gain the opportunity to work with both our sales and support teams and grow into a role that best fits your skillset.

Understanding the product

BDRs are a starting point to many different roles, all of which require a solid understanding of Erply. You can’t effectively sell or support a product that you don’t understand. As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you will grow your knowledge by:

  • Learning about Erply’s SaaS platform and how it can help improve our clients business.
  • Uncovering pain points and mapping them to Erply’s solutions.
  • Testing new and existing software features and hardware integrations.
  • Creating and updating software/hardware documentation.
  • Working with experienced sales and support team members.

BDR responsibilities

  • Learn Erply’s features to educate clients and demonstrate the value of the software.
  • Qualify inbound inquiries, deliver qualified pipeline to the sales team.
  • Follow up on existing inquiries, proactively reach out to new prospects.
  • Become experts in troubleshooting, messaging, and communication.
  • Create customer-facing documentation on new and existing Erply features to be used for troubleshooting and education. Test features and update documents accordingly.
  • Distribute documentation to inbound and outbound leads.
  • Coordinate meetings with Account Executives and other win team members.
  • Contribute to overall team success - relay any information that may be of value to the team like best practices, new features, competitive pressures, etc.

As you grow in this role, you'll have the opportunity to specialize in aspects that you enjoy the most. Grow into the more technically-savvy T2 role, take on account management from a support-perspective as a CSM, or grow into our sales/marketing team.

  • Choose a track and begin working with mentors, set goals, and advance career.
  • Work closely with their “win team” to assist in the complete sales + implementation process (Account Executive, Solution Engineer, and Customer Success Manager).
  • Receive in-depth personal development training for soft skills.

KPIs

BDRs will be measured on the following;

  • Response time (livechat, phone, email).
  • Number of qualified leads sent to Account Executives (discovery or demos).
  • Number of customer requests or emergencies assisted, resolved, or escalated.
  • Amount of content (guides) created and delivered to marketing.
  • Quality of content created.
  • Amount of content distributed (livechat, email, or other channels).

Our ideal BDR candidate has:

  • The ability to fluently speak/write French and English
  • 6+ months prior sales experience (Software/Tech/SaaS is a plus).
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple responsibilities at once.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills; professional over the phone, in emails, and in person.
  • Technically savvy skills and is able to use a SaaS sales stack.
  • The ability to overcome objections.
