Brandt's Creek Mews is a vibrant, long-term care home for Okanagan seniors and a progressive workplace for new employees. Instead of a hospital-like structure, Brandt's Creek Mews consists of several smaller, self-contained "neighbourhoods" of care connected by a "Main Street" featuring amenities such as a hair salon, general store, bistro, library and technology centre. There is a logical progression from public to semi-public to semi-private to private space throughout the residence, creating a feel of "home" for clients.

The Opportunity
The General Manager is an exciting new role who is the Licensing Facility Manager and is responsible and accountable for the daily operations of the long-term care facility. The General Manager will also oversee the financial performance of Brandt's Creek Mews and meet/exceed financial targets set by the corporate team which will directly impact on the success and growth of Vantage Living!

What you will be focusing on:
Ensuring that any and all licensing concerns are responded to effectively and that a proactive approach to all licensing operational procedures are managed in a proactive manner working continually toward the goal of maintaining a low-level licensing rating
Financial performance of the 'community' and meeting or exceeding financial targets set by the corporate team. Administers regularly scheduled oral medications to residents as directed by RN
Ensuring all operations consistently meet and preferably exceed industry requirements for health care licensing and Occupational Health and Safety; targeting the prevention and minimization of occurrences.
Ensuring performance management and performance review processes are conducted in a timely and proactive manner for all staff
Managing union, staff and corporate relations
'Community' staff satisfaction levels and ensuring ongoing improvements to facilitate productivity, retention and high morale
Ensuring positive and engaging Community, Resident and Family relations
Communicating and working proactively with Corporate on opportunities for local public relations / community / industry participation & involvement to raise the level of local visibility and enhance Vantage's local image and brand.
Working collaboratively with corporate to develop and implement strategies that result from the corporate analysis of KPI metrics and trends in both the health industry and corporate strategic initiatives and for consistently achieving set targets
A variety of projects and initiatives related to the overall health of the 'community' and the business.

What you bring:
Previous experience in health care and hospitality management
Minimum 10 years management in health care or combination of 5 years' experience with advanced education in Health Care Administration
Experience in leading a diverse team in a unionized environment
