As the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for routine preventative maintenance and optimal efficiency of production equipment to optimize safety, efficiency and reliability within a continuous manufacturing operation.

Your day to day activities will include:

  • With a hands-on approach, assist and direct maintenance staff and contractors while on site.
  • Work effectively in a food processing environment and adhere to food safety and quality system requirements. This includes our HACCP and GMP policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all machines and equipment are kept in a safe working condition, taking appropriate precautions to prevent risk to employees and to the product.
  • Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation.
  • Plan, oversee, and complete preventative maintenance ensuring work orders are completed effectively and efficiently within our maintenance program.
  • Carry out inspections of the facility of all machinery including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and boiler systems and associated equipment to identify and resolve issues.
  • Monitor, support, and reinforce health and safety performance in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Assist with development, installation and implementation of capital projects.
  • Monitor expenses and control the budget for Maintenance

The successful candidate should enter the position with the following qualifications:

  • Certification as a Millwright or Electrician.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial plant maintenance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Management experience.
  • Experience in the installation and repair of machines and equipment.
  • Hoisting and rigging experience.
  • Organize and maintain complete and accurate files.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Ideally, working knowledge of flour mill and food plant environments.
