We are seeking a highly detailed individual to take on this new role of Accountant – Accounts Receivable and Treasury. This is an opportunity for someone with strong inter-personal skills to work closely with our international customers and bankers under the leadership of the Director of Finance & Controller.

Main Responsibilities:Responsibilities for Accounts Receivables:
Working with our project accounting team, generate invoices to customers;
Reconcile all AR records to project records;
Interact with international customer accounts payable teams to understand customer complex payment workflows, monitor progress for payments and where necessary directly engage with customer AP and managerial leadership to expedite collections.
Process sales orders for new contracts in accordance with ISO standards

Responsible for treasury management including:
Management of consolidated cash flow reporting with forecasting of incoming international receipts and outflows;
Preparation of monthly cash budget requirement for multiple international bank accounts, ensuring funding is in place for operational purposes;
Cash flow analysis – prepare and update local and consolidated company cash flow forecasts;
Management of cash investments;
Responsible for preparation and management of letters of credit, bank guarantees and associated scheduled reporting;
Directly engage in the opening of new international accounts to streamline local operations worldwide;
Direct responsibility for maintenance of in-country banking relationships;
Reconcile worldwide bank accounts with support of other accounting & finance team members
Analyze bank accounts to prepare and process journal entries.
Assist in the management and updates of bank documentation including signing authorities and provision of Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements to international banks.
Under the leadership of the Director of Finance & Controller, this role will ensure that FreeBalance achieves on time achievement of worldwide governance reporting including:
Ensuring that all payroll withholding, vendor withholding and taxes are funded to local bank accounts and paid on time. This will require coordination with internal accounting team members and local accounting advisors.
Ensuring that all annual filings, audited financials and special reporting is completed on time in all international jurisdictions.

Other responsibilities include:
Financial analysis – support month end financial analysis of cost and revenue items as required;
Participate in project revenue recognition and reconciliation as required.
Participate in interim, year end and periodic audits of consolidated or subsidiary companies;
Support tax and audit filings in international jurisdictions as required;
Assist CFO and Director of Finance/Controller with various financial matters as required;
Other accounting duties, as required

Education and Experience:
Post Secondary Degree in Accounting or Business, CPA is an asset
Minimum five (5) years experience in general accounting including accounts payable and receivable
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact confidently with international customers, advisors and bankers
Outstanding and demonstrated attention to detail
Intermediate to advanced skills in MS-Office tools
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Hands on experience with enterprise accounting systems
Knowledge of Sage Intacct Accounting would be an asset
French and/or Spanish language skills a definite plus.
This is a full-time permanent position based in Ottawa, Ontario. This position will require flexibility to work various hours of the day to interact with contacts worldwide. Some international travel may be required.
