Habitat for Humanity Victoria is a charity working towards the goal of everyone having a safe and decent place to live.

The ReStore is Habitat's retail program that sells new and used quality merchandise to generate revenue to support Habitat's charitable work.

Reporting to the ReStore Manager the ReStore Receiver is responsible for the safe operation of the ReStore receiving area and the supervision of store associates and Receiving Area Volunteers. The successful candidate will be a safe, courteous, and outgoing individual sensitive to the needs of the donors and the organization. The individual's primary focus is collecting donated product and assisting donors and truck staff with unloading and processing of the donated product. Donated products vary greatly from furniture to construction materials to kitchen cabinets and everything in between.

In addition to Receiver Duties our ideal candidate will have their Class 5 drivers license with a clean driving record. When called upon this position will back fill for our Truck Associates. This includes working with a driver's assistant going to commercial and residential donor locations to pick up items, using Habitat 1 ton cube trucks, and bringing the items back to the ReStore.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Class 5 Drivers License with clean drivers abstract
  • Able to life and move with up to 20kg on a regular basis
  • Able to stand on feet for long periods

Helpful Skills

  • Experience in furniture moving
  • Knowledge of product categories (new and used) furniture, housewares, home decor, lighting, plumbing, tools, hardware, electrical, building supplies, outdoor product, automotive, collectibles.
  • Holds or is willing to acquire company funded safety training including but not limited to:
  • Forklift Training
  • OFA Level I First Aid

Remuneration and hours:

  • Competitive wage and benefit package
  • Full Time 40 hours per week
  • $16.39-17.94 per hour
  • Schedule will include weekends
