The Canada HR Director acts as a strategic partner to the General Manager and the country leadership team by embedding Slalom’s global people priorities into day-to-day work and initiatives, providing professional guidance and support to relevant internal client groups with the objective of adding value to the business. The role is a Manager to 2 local HR employees and part of a global HR team at Slalom numbering 110 and the function which you will lead directs the actions across 3 offices; Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal.

Contribute to business strategy by helping business leaders to identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes
Be on point for shaping a high-performing culture in a climate of business growth, executing critical projects focusing on workforce-culture alignment , business transformation, inclusion and diversity, organisational design, enterprise wide change management whilst leading a multicultural and highly complex workforce.
Bring to bear up-to-date knowledge of the latest industry and market trends, to anticipate business opportunities and design result-focused strategies whilst maintaining the focus on the strength of the business.
Drive strong talent management that optimizes the ability of HR to innovate, connect business strategy and outcomes, improve performance, reduce attrition, enrich the talent pool with innovative sourcing approaches and implement agile talent processes
Partner with the Slalom Talent Management CoE to ensure delivery of robust learning and development initiatives that focus on building organisational capability, delivering training that closes technical competency, cultural gaps, developing manager capability and supporting a coaching culture
Liaise with other CoEs across Slalom who work in related areas of Employee Relations, Compensation and Benefits, Talent Acquisition ensuring good collaboration and communication between the teams.
Take an active role in our Global People team community assisting in the strengthening of process, skills and employee experience.
Leverage your insights to influence all levels of the organization and effectively handling complex employee situations that could have high organizational impact. Ensure when applicable Canada manages effectively employee relations and/or investigation issues, partnering with managers and business leaders on issues including policy violations, and investigations; managing cases from beginning to conclusion. Uphold the highest quality employee relations process and practices, while demonstrating empathy, employee advocacy and fairness to all.
Improve manager capability by providing expert level coaching to managers and employees.
Analyse and Recommendations – By tracking organizational health data, you will be well positioned to analyze trends and identify issues in and across teams. You will work with the business leaders to address these issues and also use proactive measures to prevent future ones from occurring.
Lead local talent management programs including Talent Review, Performance Management and Succession Management by coaching people leaders, providing advice and support, contributing to building a culture of continuous development and feedback
Provide in country expertise as well as forward thinking for the full scope of HR functions including employee relations, talent acquisition, reward, employee engagement and organizational design and change
Implement Compensation And Benefits initiatives and lead the implementation of the annual salary review process in line with guidelines and in connection with performance
Delivery of employee engagement measurement initiatives including our annual Slalom Engagement Survey,
Extensive experience in a matrixed multinational company or firm, Demonstrates strong personal leadership and ownership in all business interactions and is a role model
Is an effective Business Partner for Canada’s senior Leaders, acting as a sounding board and change agent to drive and implement the desired behavioural and organizational changes
Strong commercial business acumen, active communication and energetic, consultative leadership style with ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, influence key decision makers across international markets, improve business practices, drive profitable growth and partner to create solutions to complex business challenges
Clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between talent and other HR initiatives and business strategy
Ability to develop clear, actionable and at times innovative steps in support of an overall business strategy
Ability to collect and synthesize qualitative data to guide decision making
Ability to engage, inspire, and influence people
