The Activity Facilitator is responsible for assisting with and implementing the planned activities for children and youth between the ages of 6 and 18. The Facilitator recognizes and accepts the need to be a positive influence who models honesty, fair play, a positive attitude, cooperation and respect for self and others.

Lead and participate in program activities

Supervise children and youth in the program
Complete records as required
Follow all policies and procedures set by Boys & Girls Club of Cornwall/SDG
Assist with the recruitment of new participants
Liaise with parents and caregivers regarding progress and challenges of members
Assist with the promotion of the clubhouse programs and activities
Provide monthly and weekly updates
Supervise field trips including travel
Participate in team meetings and training opportunities as required
Complete all other tasks as required by the Program Manager or Senior Staff
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
Demonstrated superior competencies in child/youth care settings and/or working toward or completion of a college diploma or university degree in a child & youth related or recreation field
Standard First Aid and C.P.R certification
General understanding of diversity issues (cultural, socio-economic, etc.)
2 years’ experience in direct leadership experience in a child & youth related field
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated leadership skills in a program instruction capacity
Demonstrated conflict resolution skills
Mentoring and coaching abilities
Initiative to work both independently and with a team with minimal supervision
Multilingualism an asset OTHER
Valid driver’s license is an asset
Must provide a Criminal Reference Check
