Your Opportunity:
Located in the heart of Northern Alberta, Fairview is a small town with the population of 3500. Fairview LTC is a 66 bed LTC, which includes 11 secure beds and a full scope Homecare office that serves the farming community of Fairview, Hines Creek and Worsley. Homecare also serves two enhanced lodges. Fairview provides all amenities that a person would need to live, including numerous banks, churches, schools and many indoor and outdoor recreational activities. Fairview has a GPRC campus, along with an indoor pool and gym, hockey rink, curling rink. A provincial historic site is about 20 minutes from town. Local campgrounds provide families the ability to camp year round. The LTC is attached to a 25 bed Acute Hospital. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Description:
The Long Term Care and Homecare Care Manager, Seniors Health is responsible and accountable for making front line unit level decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for contributing to the achievement of the goals of Seniors Health in a person-centered care environment. They ensure services provided support the overall AHS vision; provides leadership through effective communication, ethical decision make in, and commitment to achieving established goals and objectives while measuring and monitoring outcome and standards; contributes to the formulation of policies, developing programs and or administering; plans, implements and coordinates staff schedules and master rotations; authorizes staff time away from work; plans work activities for staff and to take independent action in controlling the quality of work; fosters high quality workplace with strong commitment to quality , process improvement and person centered care; identifies improvement opportunities and determines implementation strategies for initiates. Responsible for carrying out standards of the Alberta Department of Housing for seniors and the Continuing Care Health Service Standards.

Required Qualifications:
A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, and person centered orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to manage change. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally managing within a unionized sector. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with CARNA. Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire other to achieve common goals. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and build solid relationships with public agencies, government, committees and other partners.

Additional Required Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal skills. Minimum of five years in a supervisory role. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Previous Homecare and LTC experience. Demonstrated knowledge of current nursing concepts and treatment methods.

Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of MDS, PCS and RAI assessment tool. Understanding of Continuing Care Health Service Standards. Baccalaureate Degree in nursing preferred but not necessary, background in health care is required though.
