We’re looking for a creative and dedicated solution design expert to provide mentorship and direction to substantially impact the successful delivery of our Information Technology (IT) projects across our business units. You will take pride in playing a key role in managing the delivery of application and systems designs and technical interface solutions for multiple complex projects.
You will use your expertise to:
Document existing, and design new cloud architectures, and design and optimize cloud strategies for the cost-effective delivery of scalable and reliable systems
Create, grow, mentor, and participate in key cloud teams across the company; embrace and focus on emerging technology and evangelize to the rest of the team
Support bill of material development and pricing activities associated with building, proposing, and delivering cloud solutions
Guide Suncor's overall cloud strategy with respect to partnerships, tools, design paradigms and products
Write reference architecture, standard methodologies and thought leadership whitepapers
Demonstrate your extensive experience with implementing, migrating, managing, and operating systems/applications in an enterprise cloud computing environment
Act as a domain expert with the following Cloud Service Providers: Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS); identify and enforce Azure/AWS architectural standard methodologies

Must-haves (minimum requirements):
Seven years of solutions design experience for application integration and interfaces for large enterprises
Expertise with Cloud Service Providers such as Microsoft Azure and Azure AWS, and experience with infrastructure and application deployment automation tools (Azure/AWS native, Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
A Computer Science degree or related technical college diploma
The ability to migrate and build applications to Azure/AWS using PaaS services, and you can blueprint, design and deploy scalable, High Availability (HA), and fault tolerant systems on Azure/AWS
Strong knowledge of Solaris and Linux based operating systems, including deployment, administration, and scripting
Strong written and verbal communication skills at both a technical and business level, and you build positive relationships with highly dispersed and dynamic teams

AWS Certified Solution Architect Professional

You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday SAP:IND
