Key Accountabilities
Reporting to the Associate Director and with a dotted line reporting to functional business units, this role’s primary function is to be the Finance department’s representative to provide financial and analytical support to six respective business units. This person is the key go-to resource and business support partner for the business unit(s) for financial and analytical support of the annual budget and periodic forecasts, expense variance analysis, business case development (including capital project support), report development, data analysis, metric/KPI development and tracking, and ad-hoc requests. This role would act as liaison between the business unit and all other finance functions (other department support roles, planning, reporting, decision support, capital management, risk management, procurement, and controllers group).

Provide leadership/management and coaching/mentoring to direct report(s)
Manage and oversee work performed by other business or finance personnel as required
Oversee the budgeting and forecasting process coordinating with other finance roles including development of the Annual Operating and 5-year strategic plans
In conjunction with Strategy and HR, manage the calculation of STIP and LTIP payouts
Manage the preparation of the monthly and quarterly financial reports
Perform variance analysis on actual versus budgeted results, and make recommendations for budget management/mitigation opportunities
Financial analysis and reporting to support senior management’s business performance
Develop and track metrics/KPIs/BPIs as required
Create and maintain financial models to support business planning and sound decision making
Prepare and communicate analyses, presentations, and business reports to finance and business leaders
Act as primary liaison for the business unit and all other finance teams
Educate department leaders and staff on financial processes, procedures, calendars
Strong ability to discern complicated and detailed financial information and communicate that analysis to Senior Management in a clear, concise and confident manner
Manage information systems with responsibility for entry and accuracy of data and liaise with Manager of Financial Systems to improve reporting systems
Responsible for being a customer centric leader with respect to the Mission, Vision, Values and Beliefs of the GTA

Qualifications
Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce, or other relevant field preferred
Professional accounting designation (e.g. CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) required
Minimum five (5) years of demonstrated experience in financial reporting for publically accountable enterprises, internal controls over financial reporting, budget and forecast preparations, and other accounting related tasks
Minimum two (2) years of experience in People Management
Industry experience or industry related experience (aviation, transportation, etc.) will be considered an asset
Demonstrated experience working in a customer centric environment
Must be able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance

Advanced level proficiency, in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Experience with Oracle ERP system considered an asset
