Reporting to the Regional General Manager, the Plant Manager position's primary role is to be responsible for all aspects of plant operations, transportation, health and safety, to maximize production, minimize costs, to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

Job Responsibilities
General plant administration, analysis functions related to producing reports and/or tracking information for the plant.
Evaluate supervisor each year to make sure they are carrying out their responsibilities and are aware of their health and safety responsibilities
Assist with the Health and Safety Coordinator to ensure that a plant wide safety committee is formed and is carrying out its responsibilities as described in this program.
Insure that accidents and incidents are fully investigated and corrective action taken to prevent the hazardous conditions or behaviors from happening again.
Employee discipline as necessary
Train, develop and motivate plant personnel
Understand market place, competition and pricing issues
Review and evaluate opportunities for business growth
Monitor inventories
Maintain and analyze production reports
Identify maintenance and/or repair needs daily
Communicate inventory levels for sale
Approve and monitor overtime
Complete CERS for the purchase of assets and obtain proper approval
Sign off A/P invoices

Work with contractor, third parties, sales, marketing to develop more customers, create and offer efficient services.

Education
Bachelor's degree
College diploma in Business Administration or Operations Management
Desired experience
Five to ten years expereince in manufacturing or related industry.
Previous experience with equipment used in the recyling industry and with related mobile equipment would be an asset.
Previous experience in union environment is preferred.
Previous experience in transportation and logistics.
Technical competencies
Good knowlege of electrical and hydraulic components
Proven troubleshooting ability with emphasis on safety and reliability
Good communictions, leadership and interperonal skills
Good analytical skill, problem-solver
Must be aware of all safety and requirements for maintenance work
Experience with the operations equipment (balers, conveyors and mobile equipment) used in the recyling industry would also be beneficial
Possess strong supervisory and organization skills
Good computer knowlege and have an understanding of Microsoft office such as Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook and etc.
