Bimbo Canada Limited is a leading producer and distributor of packaged fresh bread and bakery products with brands such as Dempster’s®, Villaggio®, POM®, Bon Matin®, Ben’s®, Healthy Way® and McGavins®. Dempster’s is the national brand leader and a market leader in the health and well-being segment of bread products in Canada.

As an independent business unit of Grupo Bimbo, Bimbo Canada seeks to grow value-added bakery segments by focusing on health and well-being, and penetrating new bakery segments and channels of distribution. Bimbo Canada operates 12 bakeries and employs approximately 3,800 Associates across Canada. It distributes its products through a network of more than 1,000 routes operated by franchisees, distributors and some Corporate Associates.

We are currently looking to hire a Manager, Sales Excellence – Tools & Technology that wants to take the next step in their career.

The Sales Excellence Manager is part of a dynamic team dedicated to supporting Field Sales through project management, innovation, and continuous improvement in core areas such as ordering, delivery, selling, and merchandising. This role leads a team of analysts, and works closely with other Sales Excellence Managers and collaboratively, they problem solve, build and manage processes and tools, facilitate learning, mitigate risk, and enhance productivity. Their guiding principles of lean thinking and respect for others power the skills and tactics to support Bimbo Canada’s strategic objectives of business simplification and driving profitable customer growth.

In particular, this role is responsible to design, implement, and administer tools that will enhance Field Sales activities (ordering, delivery, selling, and merchandising). He/she seeks opportunities to innovate and introduce technology that will drive commercial business results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Project Management, Innovation, & Continuous Improvement
Offers leadership through project management and process design in order to drive identified strategic priorities. Effectively organizes resources and activities into streamlined work plans that deliver timely results.
Develops a deep understanding of Field Sales and business requirements and identifies opportunities for innovation. Engages with associates and leadership to facilitate the development of creative solutions and tools, and leverages communication and change management tactics to implement for sustainable results.
Seeks ongoing opportunities for continuous improvement of Field Sales processes through the use of technology. This includes an emphasis on activities to simplify the business and eliminate waste. Measures results by establishing and monitoring KPIs.
Field Sales CRM – iPad Program
Establishes and governs the tasks required for ongoing daily administration of the Field Sales iPad field CRM program, used to define, track, and measure call cycle effectiveness and in-store execution.
Ongoing development and evolution of the core iPad applications (including Mobile Briefcase, selling tools, and data collection requirements).
Works closely with cross-functional partners in Marketing and Key Accounts to understand data requirements for insights and ROI analysis.
Designs & maintains portals to house data, photos, & other key assets collected through iPads.
Communicates, trains, and offers support for Field Sales users, including troubleshooting where required.
Manages iPad data requirements & outputs. Defines & implements sales reporting using iPad data to effectively measure Field Sales KPIs.

Web Based Ordering & Predictive Ordering
Responsible for ongoing oversight of web based ordering platform, including user access, issues tracking and resolution, and ongoing feedback and improvements.
Communicates, trains, and ensures availability of formal documentation and SOPs to support web ordering platform users, ensuring ongoing adherence to governance protocols.
Works closely with third party vendor to maintain & improve predictive order model. Includes ongoing analysis of input & order accuracy results in order to tune model to meet KPIs.
Works closely with cross functional business partners to leverage predictive orders in order to streamline planning & forecasting processes.
Manages predictive order data requirements & outputs. Defines & implements sales reporting using predictive order data to effectively measure Field Sales KPIs.

Additional Tools & Technology
Maintains Field Sales SharePoint portal as key repository for reports, tools, training, and forms.
Governs and implements Field Sales store tour call cycle planning & tracking process.
Understands ongoing needs of Field Sales team and ensures current tools evolve accordingly in order to meet requirements.
Identifies opportunities to enhance efficiencies & better equip Field Sales associates to perform key selling activities through new tools & innovation.

Leadership
Leads a team of 2 or more direct reports, offering development, mentorship, and coaching.
Provides analytics and data inputs to senior leadership to support strategic decision making. Data is presented thoughtfully and according to appropriate levels, and backed by strong influencing skills to drive change.

PREFERRED HIRING CRITERIA
Strong business, financial, and analytical acumen, with particular experience in sales and/or DSD environment.
Leadership skills, with experience providing mentorship and coaching to direct reports, located in various geographic locations and adapting to business needs in different time zones.
Effective analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to think strategically and effectively tie in business objectives with field level tactics
Excellent planning, project management, and organizational skills, plus ability to manage multiple priorities.
Detail oriented, able to develop and lead complex processes.
An innovative and creative thinker with good judgement about how potential ideas may play out in the marketplace.
Ability to work with a positive attitude and in a professional manner.
Enjoy working in a fast paced, changing environment.
Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to build strong influencing relationships at all levels including senior leadership
3 – 5 Years of managerial experience.
Ability to work with minimum supervision and effectively with others.
Action-oriented bias, with a keen focus on delivering results on time and within budget.
Intermediate to advanced PC proficiency (MS Excel, Power point).
Post-secondary degree in business or related field is an asset.
Moderate travel within North America.
