Project Description and Responsibilities:
Gathering, eliciting and analyzing business and functional requirements; understanding, interpreting and documenting scope, objectives, benefits, risks and others of project relevance
Providing proposals based on Maximo system to satisfy needs of Streetcar and Subway vehicle maintenance
Conducting workshops with business users to identify gaps, documenting current state processes including inefficiencies metrics (cost, time, etc.); process benchmarking when appropriate
Documenting future state business processes, Functional Specifications for applications and interfaces with IFS, JBCS, CIS, VISION, and Reports, and for the KPI dashboards
Working with ITS PMO to make trade-offs on scope/timeline and cost
Working with Solution Architects for option analysis and solution
Business case analysis and documentation
Providing guidance on SMS legacy data mapping and migration to Maximo system
Working with the vendors and architects to ensure solution will meet the business needs and requirements if necessary
Identifying opportunities and providing the recommendations for process integration across lines of business or business capabilities
Working with business and IT teams on strategy and planning in relation to various major IT initiatives
Working closely with business and technical architects to ensure data, technology and business strategy & capability alignment
Making presentations to senior management, organize and conduct meetings
Working with business teams, architects and IT PMO to balance the immediate delivery needs with the longer term strategic objectives
Creating the necessary project documentation for management
Coordinating and managing business analysis activities as necessary
Assisting QA in creating test plan and test cases, performing testing on applications and interfaces
Creating training materials and perform user trainings
Providing functional and application support to developers, business users during and after implementation phases
Providing on-site rollout and production support as part of new implementations
Other project duties as assigned
Willing to provide off hours support to meet project training and production support needs for shift workers
Experience and Skills Required:
10+ years business consulting experience
5+ years experience as a business and/or process analyst within enterprise asset mangement and maintenance operations domains
3+ years experience with transit and/or large and diverse Maximo Implementations
Major IT implementation experience and understanding how systems are affected by business process change
Experience in dealing with complex business problems, identifying business/functional user requirements and recommending how to best support them through processes and applications
Experience in process analysis, design, and modelling in a complex environment
Ability to have influence without authority, and a strong ability to sell recommendations and solutions by stating advantages and value in business terms
High level written and verbal communications skills, and ability to manage and influence stakeholders.
Nice to Have:
Expert knowledge of MS Office tools (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
Familiarity and understanding of KPI (Key Performance Indicator) analysis and performance measurement
Experience with SQL queries in Oracle DB is an asset
Public Service and Transit experience is an asset.
Education:
University degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or related, relevant discipline
