What is the opportunity?
Lead to manage development team for complex Compliance technology portfolio of Compliance surveillance, case management, disclosure, and registrations management systems. Supports Compliance groups globally.
Participates the evaluation and adoption of new technologies to support more efficient and effective Compliance processes and reduce costs.
Collaborates with Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, Quality Engineering, and Operations leads to accomplish project and department objectives.
What will you do?
Oversee the work – scope, schedule, and allocations - of the development teams working on new implementations and enhancements across a portfolio of 12 systems.
Responsible to work with the Architecture team and assist in decisions for all relevant applications in line with the agreed strategy and roadmap.
Responsible to ensure adherence to RBC standard software engineering practices within the development team (code review, unit testing, continuous integration, continuous deployment, security vulnerability tests)
Responsible and accountable for the stability, performance, production, and security compliance of applications in the portfolio.
Contribute to successful project completion within budget and on time by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategies.
Conduct research, develop and present feasibility studies and proposals on strategic initiatives.
Together with the team, determines best mix of development, interfacing applications, third party vendor solutions to meet business requirements and project objectives.
What do you need to succeed?
Strong technical skills and +10 years of development /architecture experience
Extensive experience managing and motivating software developers
Extensive experience working with 3rd party software packages and integration to internal applications
Experience with projects with high level of value ($2MM to $7MM+) and a high level of complexity and uncertainty
Proven experience working with on multiple projects with multiple interfaces and/or 3rd party software packages
Extensive Experience with Agile Projects within financial industry is a must.
Experience with Compliance applications
Experience in Capital Markets is a benefit
