Blackline Safety is looking for an Event Experience Coordinator who is passionate about creating positive and memorable experiences for event participants. This full-time role is part of the marketing team located at Blackline’s headquarters in Calgary, Canada.

About this position

Working with a range of stakeholders in the sales and marketing teams, the Event Experience Planner has full ownership — from concept to execution — over internal and external events. From product launch events, trade show experiences, user conferences and high-profile customer meetings to workshops, open houses, sales team meetings, annual general meeting, townhalls and more, the Event Experience Planner is responsible for ensuring a cohesive, thoughtful and encompassing experience for attendees and internal stakeholders alike.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a living calendar of events
  • Managing and maintaining a list of target audiences by working closely with the internal and external sales teams
  • Driving content creation to support events with involvement from sales, marketing and other stakeholders
  • Understanding the needs and motivations of each audience, including employees, investors, different customer personas and distribution partners, while applying it to each event
  • Coordinating the promotion of each event to corresponding audiences using various platforms
  • Building relationships with event vendors
  • Negotiating contracts and booking event spaces and resources as required
  • Researching and ordering promotional event materials
  • Following up with guests in person, through email and via surveys to learn how the event was perceived and what could be improved
  • Preparing nametags, printed materials, gifts, seating cards, etc. as required
  • Staying ahead of the game by looking for new opportunities and innovative techniques to maximize event investments

  • Offer superior copy-writing skills across every medium


  • A minimum of three year’s event planning experience
  • Proven project delivery
  • Event software such as Eventbrite, Mailchimp and GoToWebinar
  • Top-tier communication skills
  • Experience planning and executing holistic, emotionally appealing events for attendees


  • Post-secondary degree in marketing or communications is considered an asset
  • Creative design experience with Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Photo and video production experience
  • Corporate events and tradeshow event planning
  • Experience with social media planning in the context of events

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $40,000.00 to $45,000.00 /year
