Our client is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who loves to be hands-on designing and developing high-quality state-of-the-art software with a smart, collaborative team.
They are working on a greenfield project to transition our existing software to a modern platform.
In this role, you would report to, and be supported, by the Director, Software Engineer as you help deliver on the core product roadmap.
Our client is interested to hear from candidates who are passionate about test-driven, agile software, and a high performing delivery culture.
Design, develop, and test, product features satisfying business & technical requirements on time on budget.
Define & maintain architecture principles, patterns, and standards with particular attention to scalable, and high performing design.
Triage and correct performance and/or data integrity concerns by reviewing & evaluating code, data patches, system logs, and process/memory/disk consumption utilization.
Collaborate with product analysts, customer care, devops, and other engineers on features & support cases.
Research new technologies and/or applications of technology.
Coach/mentor junior-intermediate engineers.
Passion for high performing delivery culture.
Requirements and Qualifications:
University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, and/or Mathematics
Minimum 3 years as software analyst/developer/architect or equivalent
Minimum 3 years Ruby/Rails experience
Experience in the Payments Industry, PCI/DSS is an asset
Excellent written & verbal communication, fluent in English
Excellent organization skills, work ethic, and passion to deliver on commitments
Ability to work effectively in a team with minimal supervision; having led small teams of technologists
Have written enterprise scale software in an agile test driven culture that has shipped to market
Strong knowledge & practice in a variety of technology spanning, algorithms/data-structures, languages (e.g. Ruby, Python, Java), databases (e.g. MySQL, Oracle, SQLServer), operating systems (e.g. Mac, Windows, Solaris/Linux/AIX), modern web/native UX frameworks (e.g. Rails, React, Vue), and benchmarking tools/techniques
