Job Duties/Responsibilities and Details
The successful applicant will be reporting to the HRMS Team Leader and will be responsible for development and support of Human Resources Information System (HRIS) software. Responsibilities will include: Enhancing existing application, trouble shooting, fixing bugs, analysing and proposing recommended solution(s); providing estimates for assigned work, analysing and estimating feasibility, time, and compatibility with other programs; ensuring that expected application performance levels are achieved; promoting adherence to departmental standards for all phases of design and development; knowledge of emerging technologies, trends and directions; creating web parts.
Experience and Qualifications
Post Secondary Education in an Computer Science or in an applicable IT related field is required
3-5 years experience with SQL Server
Demonstrated initiative and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills to deal effectively with Board personnel
Demonstrated commitment to working in a diverse school community and/or work environment
Record of satisfactory on-the-job performance while employed by the Peel District School Board
Experience with the following is an asset
Experience with HRIS software
Experience with Oracle Forms and Reports
Experience with Oracle DBMS, PL/SQL
Experience with Linux, Advanced Crystal Reports, and TOAD
Experience with database design
Preference will be given to members of OPSEU 292
