The Finance Department’s primary collective function is managing cash flow in and out of MSC Canada. Ultimately reporting all numbers back to Geneva, the Finance Department collects and accurately inputs outstanding customer invoices while processing and paying our vendors in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
We’re hiring a Finance Controller to join our Finance Team. As a key member of this team and reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Controller plays an important role in managing the accounting cycle and financial reporting. The Finance Controller will be primarily responsible for collaborating with operational leadership and finance colleagues to deliver accurate, timely and highly valued accounting and financial support.
Responsible to deliver internal and external financial statements and reports.
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
Assist in the day to day accounting operations;
Responsible for journal entry creation and data management (GL) in SAP system and Quickbooks;
Preparation of weekly cash flow and requirements for reporting to head office;
Perform GL reconciliation and the preparation of financial statements;
Assist in the coordination and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
Analyze variances versus budget, review and analysis of financial performance;
Internal and external (head office) financial reporting and analysis;
Improve processes and controls related to the accounting cycle and propose improvements to the supporting analyses in order to improve accuracy and efficiency;
Assist in developing and monitoring business performance metrics (KPIs).
Assist in preparation of reporting requirements to management and head office;
Assist in preparation of presentation materials for senior management;
Any additional departmental tasks in line with business needs as determined by your direct supervisor.
Qualifications and Competencies

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting with CPA certification (an asset)
Have 4+ years of experience in an accounting firm or other relevant experience;
A strong work ethic and flexibility to meet dynamic business needs;
Advanced skills in MS Excel and ERP aptitude; Knowledge of SAP an asset;
Show leadership and entrepreneurship;
Have an excellent sense of organization;
Being able to work in a growing fast-paced environment;
Be able to manage priorities and meet deadlines;
Ability to work independently and as a team;
Demonstrate integrity and professionalism;
Be bilingual (FR / EN).
