Overview of role:
WestJet has been and will be significantly expanding its global network and the size of its business. As WestJet becomes more complex and challenging, our Digital & Innovation team is looking for a WestJet.com Channel Manager rock star to join them for an 18 month term. Playing a key role within our Channel & Product Management group, you’ll bring your performance orientated approach, competitive drive and analytical thinking to support our channel and product roadmaps. You will help connect and shape the channel and product strategy across our breadth of products.

In partnership with the Director of Channel & Product Management, the WestJet.com Channel Manager leads a team of channel owners responsible for delivering high value features, enhancements and capabilities to their assigned channel. They also oversee a team of content strategists delivering intuitive, consistent and helpful content across all channels and products. Moreover this leader will be accountable for the ongoing management and reporting of their channel roadmap, the Channel Manager leverages actionable insights, thinks strategically and makes data driven decisions to help drive innovative solutions that are not limited to their vertical. This is a highly visible role that requires deep collaboration with team members across Digital & Innovation and the rest of Commercial. This opportunity can be based in Calgary AB or Toronto ON.

Key deliverables include:
Build and continuously update a 1 to 3-year channel roadmap based on the objectives from multiple intake streams (Capital projects, enhancements from other business units, channels, products, as well as guest needs).
Oversee the complete migration of WestJet.com from one content management system into another.
Oversee the development of business requirements; helping the team collect, define, provide analysis and recommendations for product initiatives.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of all projects, enhancements and activities.
Ensure we are delivering a best-in-class, accessibility compliant, product experience.
Champion intuitive, effective and engaging solutions that will anticipate the future needs of our guest.
Lead and develop a team of channel owners and content strategists.
Work with the Digital Experience & Insights team to provide ongoing reporting, monitoring and insights on product user behaviour, key metrics and opportunities for improvement.
Measure and report on key performance indicators.
Provide monthly input for business review and Digital & Innovation month in review.
Present new business concepts and business cases to the Executive leadership team (ELT) and Project management office (PMO).
Build strong, lasting relationships with product and channel teams, business analysts, marketing stakeholders and IT teams to define business requirements for your product.
Develop and manage strong relationships with key vendors and partners.
Manage vendor budgets and challenge areas for optimization.

Experience and qualifications:
Completed post secondary education in business commerce, marketing or equivalent.
6 to 10 years of experience in Digital channel or product development of mobile, ecommerce, emerging technologies solutions with a focus on revenue, cost savings and guest satisfaction in the airline, retail or ecommerce industries.
Developing business cases and strategic roadmaps.
Finance and budget planning.
Leading, coaching, developing and mentoring a team.
Managing vendor relationships and contracts.
Recruiting, interviewing and prospecting new hires.
Driving action in cross-functional teams and across multiple levels of the organization.
Motivating and developing a strong team with propensity of action and accountability.
Helping drive business growth and developing end-to-end customer insights.
Uncovering strategic opportunities and solving business problems.
eCommerce, content management systems, emerging technologies and mobile solutions.
Web analytics, KPIs and user insights.
User experience.
A/B and multivariant testing.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Communication, listening and interpersonal skills.
Ability to interpret digital analytics, metrics, voice of the customer research insights to make key decisions.
Demonstrate passion, enthusiasm and ambition.
