Reporting to the Director, Community Relations and under the general direction of the Chief Administration Officer for Winnipeg West Integrated Health and Social Services (WWIHSS), the Manager, Volunteer Services and Ancillary Operations is the primary campus liaison for retail vendors, retail food services and the campus managed gift shop. In addition to vendor compliance, this position also manages the parking station collection fees and provides back-up support to Facility Access for management of tasks related to the campus fitness center, staff parking fees and the provisioning of facility access ID badges for staff, volunteers and visitors. This position also directs the extensive campus Volunteer Services Program in accordance with WRHA philosophy and objectives and performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum four (4) years’ experience working in retail marketing, customer service, event organization and/or public relations.
Previous experience analyzing and interpreting detailed financial statements is required.
Degree or diploma in business administration, business management, marketing, or other related field is required.
Current enrollment in a professional accounting designation (C.A., C.G.A, C.M.A.) program. An accounting designation is preferred.
Previous experience leading a volunteer services function.
Certificate in Volunteer Management preferred.
Qualifications and Skills
Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet, word processing and email software applications.
Ability to read, write and present well.
Experience in negotiating retail contracts and service level agreements.
Demonstrated leadership abilities within a team environment.
Demonstrated planning, organizational and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with various levels of personnel.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be self motivated and able to work independently.
Salary commensurate with education and qualifications.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
